Good health is a blessing from Allah

The final messenger of Allah, Prophet Muhammad (peace & blessings be upon him) said,

“Ask Allah (subhanawa ta’la) for forgiveness and health, for after being granted certainty, one is given nothing better than health.”

Reclaim Gift Aid

Gift Aid It!Add 25% more to your donation at no cost to you. A Gift Aid declaration allows Dabbagh Welfare Trust to claim tax back on eligible donations. It means that for every £1 you donate to Dabbagh Welfare Trust we can claim back 25p, at no extra cost to you.

By ticking the "Yes" box, I agree I would like Dabbagh Welfare Trust to reclaim the tax on all qualifying donations I have made, as well as any future donations, until I notify them otherwise. I understand that if I pay less Income Tax and/or Capital Gains Tax than the amount of Gift Aid claimed on all my donations in that tax year I may be asked to pay any difference. I understand that Dabbagh Welfare Trust will reclaim 25p of tax on every £1 that I give.

What is Gift Aid?

Gift Aid does not cost you a penny more but can add an additional 25p to every £1 you donate. When Dabbagh Welfare Trust receives a donation from a UK taxpayer, we're entitled to claim an amount of tax (calculated at the basic rate of income tax in that year) paid on that donation. Once you have given your permission for us to do this on your behalf, there is no need for you to do anything else.

All that is required is that you must be a taxpayer and that would have paid or will pay sufficient Income and/or Capital Gains Tax to cover all the Gift Aid claimed on all your donations in that tax year. Please note that it is your responsibility to pay any difference.

The amount of tax we claim will be 25% of the total value of your donations in that tax year. Furthermore, if you are a higher taxpayer, you are also entitled to claim the difference between the basic rate which we will claim and the amount of tax you have actually paid. For further details on how you can do this, please contact your tax office. If your tax situation changes and your gifts will no longer be eligible for the Gift Aid scheme please contact us and we will amend your record accordingly.

Half the world lacks access to essential health services

Health is indeed a favour that we take for granted. We should express gratitude to Allah for bestowing us with health, and we should try our utmost to look after it. Allah has entrusted us with our bodies for a predestined period. He will hold us to account for how we look after and use our bodies and good health. At the same time, we must consider others about their well-being too.

Having good health should be treated as one of the biggest priorities for the world’s poor. The sad reality, however, is that affordable and effective health care is non-existent in many parts of the world. Poor health holds communities back and traps them in the cycle of poverty. This means illnesses are prolonged, infections are not contained and many preventable diseases become a cause of long-term suffering. Moreover, many terminal diseases such as cancer, tumours, etc. have become life-threatening too.

Healthcare in Pakistan: Addressing Critical Needs

Pakistan’s healthcare system faces several significant challenges, impacting the well-being of its population. Key statistics underscore these issues:

  • Healthcare Access: A substantial portion of Pakistan’s population lacks access to essential healthcare services, especially in rural areas.
  • Chronic Diseases Rise: There’s a growing prevalence of chronic diseases like diabetes and heart disease, putting increasing pressure on healthcare resources.
  • Maternal and Child Health: High maternal and infant mortality rates remain a concern, with many deaths preventable through improved healthcare services.
  • Healthcare Spending: Pakistan’s healthcare spending is relatively low compared to other countries, limiting the availability and quality of medical care.

These statistics highlight the urgent need for enhancements in Pakistan’s healthcare system, from increased funding and access to a stronger focus on preventative care.

Support our initiatives like Medical Care for the Poor in improving healthcare accessibility in Pakistan, and help us bring essential medical services to those in need.

Dabbagh Welfare Trust’s health care programme for the poor

In many parts of the world, there are very few resources available to help pregnant women in poor communities, as many cannot afford to go to the clinic and in most cases result in the death of the mother and child. The child mortality in these communities is very high and those that do survive are very malnourished too.

Dabbagh Welfare Trust’s health care programme aims to provide effective health care for the poor. Our long-term aims are to establish medical institutions to help many thousands who are deprived of life-saving treatments.
